Currently, there are 3 generically-named full-time positions available on our department recruitment pool: 2 Investigation Agents and 1 Account
Service Agent. For the record, the name of the department they are under is the newly formed "Specialized Support Fraud Management" agency. The location is downtown Toronto, near the Rogers Centre (formerly "SkyDome").
Let me BRIEFLY describe what each job entails:
The Investigation Agent position deals with determining the outcome of potentially fraudulent behaviour (e.g. initiating requests for a write-off loss to the bank due to the client depositing numerous empty envelopes
through the ATM in which he/she is unable to cover the funds owing).
The hours are Monday to Fridays, from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. Branch experience is required, as are good communication skills (you will be dealing with
clients and branch representatives). In addition, this is a volume-driven environment, so you must be prepared to face the challenges and responsibilities that come with completing a sufficient number of tasks
within a relatively short period of time.
As far as I have been told, the Account Service Agent position is a generic term for the New Cases Officer (NCO). The function of the NCO is to evaluate the potential risk or fraud incurred by an item RBC receives- and if necessary, establish active cases in need of escalation to the Investigation Agent. No branch experience is required for this job, but a
general knowledge of banking activities is recommended (I still think they'd prefer a minimum of 2 years with any prior financial institution).
Also, communication skills are not a required component of this particular position as the NCO does not need to consult with clients or branch
representatives. Oh, I believe the hours can range from 8:00am to 4:00pm...or 9:00am to 5:00pm. Again, like that of the Investigation Agent,
this is also part of a volume-driven environment, so be prepared for that as well.
