The translation is supposed to make things simpler not "fancy".
Also I read yusuf ali translation and there are a lot of mistakes in it. Espoecially in the foot notes.
Our prophet salla allahu alaihi wa salam prohibited us from using fancy language to make a point and he was very strongly "vocal" about it. AL hamdulillah I don't have to read yusuf ali translation although i have one at home. I encourage all the muslims to learn arabic. It is almost a duty

Of course.
It is all in the intentions.
Reading the Quran in Arabic helps understand it and make you feel the marvels of the book and beleive me there is a wide difference between arabic and other language when it is about quran.
I find however some magic evern if i read in an other language othe than arabic. I do however find the translation of Yusuf Ali very decorated with experssion from the bible. I guess he was mimicking the old english so that Quran look like an old bible. I find that distrurbing and above all it takes away the magic of Quran. besides many of his interpretation are wrong. As you know many wordws in arabic have hundreds of meaning and you might be at the mercy of the interpreter when reading it in another language. Finally, yes it depends on your heart and please try to learn arabic as long you are young and willing (H) .
