Mashallah! This was an excellent event!

We go there early and met with former cabinet minister and now president of University of Winnipeg, Lloyd Axworthy and Maher Arar, Human Rights Activist, before the event started. They shared some interesting and valuable insights with us.

Their speeches were very good and enlightening and both received standing ovations. Many elected and public officials were at hand for this event, which was good for Muslims in terns of having and establishing better public relations with Canadian society at large.

Later on we met with Azhar Usman after his comedy act which was hilarious and had everyone laughing. He was signing his cds and dvds that were available for sale. He is even better off stage then on stage.

Senator Mobina Jaffer share her immigration story to Canada and reminded us the importance of looking after and protecting human rights.

Dr. Sheema Khan, Premier of Ontario Dalton McGuinty and few others were not able to make because last minute things came up.

I went with a friend who usually avoids Islamic fundraising events but even he had a very good time and surprisingly made a very generous contribution at the event. He liked how professionally the event was handled.

The brother from Houston who did the fundraising at the event was very good and entertaining.

People commented he came across as rather slick and professional. Riad Saloojee, LLB gave a good overview on the history of CAIR-CAN and what its current and future plans are.

The food was very good and it was served on time! :)

We were fed before the fundraising and major speeches were made which was a very good idea.

Prayer room accommodations were very good and easily accessible. Toronto Congress Centre turned out to be a excellent venue for this event. We should seriously consider having more Islamic events at Toronto Congress Centre in the future.

Inshallah, CAIR-CAN, will be putting on many more successful events like this one in the near future.
