Rishtay horror stories


Have people tried to hook you up in the past? While they may have had good intentions, were they simply uninformed (read: clueless) about what you're looking for? Did everything climax into an outrageous, uncomfortable, emabarrassing or hilarious meeting? C'mon, share those rishtay horror stories with us!

Raat ko aey gi wo. Apka bahi ko lagayee gi wo. Assh karai gi wo. Ice cream kilaey gi wo. Ussa Shadi karagi wo. Oh guy's. I can't wait to go to the shadi. That will give me an opportunity to dress up with my shaaraa and bindia ;) OOpppsi. Was I invited? "Senor" you can't let me down.

ok to you too then. Why are we wasting precious space with these meaningless entries. Have we not any respect for the other person's time? Do we not have anything else to do? Doesn't the sun come out of the east and set in the west? Why is Aurora Australias not visible to us? Why did Carl Sagan have to die? Why do girls demand too much from guys? Why did God create Evil? Why am I the most Evil guy on Earth? What is the meaning of life? Why do Ice Cream Trucks sell Ice Cream? Why am I typing still? Why am I wasting your time? Why are you guys still reading this? I'll tell you why, because it seems today, that all we see is violence in movies and sex on TV. But where are those good Old-Fashioned values, on which we used to rely? Lucky there's a family guy, lucky there's a man who positively can do all the things that make us, LAUGH AND CRY. He's Our Family Guy.

Hey i respect elders but i think sometimes in these situations, the boy and the girl should just talk. It will probably make life easier for everyone.

Sarah, that's hilarious! Looks like they were looking for a babysitter for their son. Unfortunately, there are some very outdated views of what a marriage is within our culture. Parents and children don't always end up seeing eye to eye. Who knows, maybe the guy wasn't as high maintainence as his mother made him out to be. But the fact is that the family sure was high maintainence. The mother had some specific (and unrealistic) expectations. SuperGirl is absolutely right: a marriage is a union between families and if you are lucky, then your parents will be on the same page as you are. Oy, but that sure is a funny story!

Sarah: I don't understand. If you are going to spend the rest of ur life with their son. What do they care if you will make paratha or bagels for him in the morning. I mean don't get me wrong. I respect elders to the fullest and I feel every parents have a right over their kids. At times I feel that the poor guy has no say on what the parents will tell the larki wala. Parents just come up with these creative things to bug the heck out of the girls side hehe. I have had so many rishta's.They are so worried about what will be on the menu and how much zahhas I will be bringing with me. Shouldn't the concern be more or less like. Would you love our son, when we are not around anymore? Would you care for him the way you care for your parents? Would you be kind and satisfy each others needs and wants? Its good to ask questions. Questions are made to be answered. At times I feel or at least the way I was raised. Sweet Heart if you find the right guy and if you feel that you guys will be happy together. Then run and grab him or her as fastest you could. My parents feel you don't only marry ur mate but you marry the family. They also belive. If you are not happy with the person you are married to then what difference can a family bring to your life? They can't be your partner. So why not make your self happy first and then when others see that you are happy. They will have to compromise and chip right in. If not, then life goes on. Its the understanding you both create between each other and others.

I've go many so I'll share them one by one over the next few days...
my 1st rishta was through a client my brother met. He informed my bro about his 'Graduate Beta' working for a good co. etc etc. Over a space of 2 weeks, several calls were made by the father and mother...asking ..does your daughter cook? She had to make parathas..my son has to have parathas in the morning! (i wonder how much his body mass is) its all about healthy eating for me. Does she wear full Hijab...if she doesnt she will have to!
She will not work and have to complete her studies as we are a very educated family! (really...hmm) Then im sure they had not read about imposing your likes and dislikes on others; which is considered Rude.
Im sure I dont need to update you on what me and my family had to say to them. ;o) stay tuned for more! hehe
