Rita?

Salams Houstonians,
So what do you think? Is Hurricane Rita hit or miss? Should we be worried, or is the Media overplaying it, bc of the Katrina's effect?

Do you all remember Allison?

May Allah (SWT) make this easy for all of us.
I hope we don't go into panic mode, if its all a hit or miss, but i guess we don't have a way of knowing too much right now.

Im keeping tuned in to the Weather Reports. I know Galveston has voluntary evacuation tomorrow.

WOW, i really dislike living on the Gulf Coastal Flood Plane.

Your thoughts are welcome.

Fareeda

I evacuated to San Antonio it took 3 hours total to get to San Antone from NW Houston, I waited till the last moment to leave Houston Friday @ 2 pm and I-10 was clear all the way through, their were DOT trucks to provide gas, I ended up the Marriott river center along with 34 people of my extended family, so now we are chillin at the River Walk, Its like the family reunion we always planned but never took, so all n all I am having a good time.

I am staying, tried to leave earlier but the traffic is crazy
we had a caravan of 6 car and we all turned back too, lot of family drama though it was hard to convince all 35 family members to agree on any thing

oh come on, Rita will be fun! Stay home pray and strengthen your beleif :)

I was an unwilling passenger of a 4 car caravan trying to get to nacogdoches for a total of 12 hours. We never even left houston. First hour we drove 30 miles and the next 11 hours got us whopping 7 miles! we all gave up and came back home.

It was one of those hot and sweaty houston picnics...

the last I heard the strom was going to make a land fall south of Houston around Matagorda, so the odds are getting better now, and if Rita keep moving south, I't might make landfall around Corpus.
so wooptidooo!

I am not sure if I should evacuate or not, most of my friends and acquaintances keep calling be suggesting that I do so. since I live in SW Houston its not the flood water that concerns me its the150 mph winds that might do a lot of damage, I think I'll go out and buy some canned food candles n water just in case. Or worse case scenario I?ll drive up to College station. But for now its wait n see
