Romantic Desi Guys Showcase
Ladies, you?ve recently started an inquiry in this village about whether Desi Men are truly romantic. You may call me biased as a man, but I maintain that many desi men are romantic.
That?s why I have dedicated this journal to fellow desi men who are romantic; to post romantic works and stories.
Men: Don?t tell the ladies what you ?would? do. Talk is cheap. You don?t ever have to have been married/involved to post here, but you need a true story or a rendition of (or link to) romantic artistry ? a poem, photography etc.
As the fellow who started this JE, I have already demonstrated my romantic gesture and have done my posting :)
I leave the rest of the entries to be made here for my fellow desi brothers to showcase their work and for you ladies to ponder the romantics that virtually walk amongst you.
To begin, I would like to showcase a translation of Kabhi Kabhi done many years ago by my recent online chum, RoadNotTaken:
Sometimes I dream with open eyes,
that you have been created for me.
You were dwelling in the heavens above,
You were sent to the world for me.
Sometimes I dream with open eyes
that your body, the glittering of your eyes is mine,
the shade of your curling locks is for me to enjoy,
the sweetness of your lips, the refuge of your arms belong to me.
Your hand in my hand, I will conquer destiny
Luck will surrender if you are along in this journey.
You may or may not answer my cries, my love,
The "Yes" in your silence is worth a thousand words to me.
Sometimes I dream with open eyes
that you will love me for eternity.
Your heart will keep me dear forever,
These eyes will always adore me.
I know, you are not mine, but still
Sometimes I dream with open eyes...
Sometimes I dream with open eyes?
That life would have been great
If I had spent it under the dark shadows of your hair.
All of this anguish and toils of my heart may have
Evaporated in the glittering of your eyes.
But this never happened, this never happened.
Now not you, nor your love, nor your desire
Can bring me back...
I have no path, no destination, nor a ray of light to follow
My life is wondering through the ultimate darkness as if
It does not even need the reliance of a companion.
I know, I will be lost in these shadows, forever
But still, some times I dream with open eyes...
Isn?t that beautiful ladies? It does exist. We just are very selective with whom we share. Luckily, with our art, you may catch a glimpse of the romantic souls desi men do possess.
