Senna, you said it perfectly. Respect to all of the people who commented on my JE. I got enlightened with logic and reasoning that backed your points. RJJ is the better fighter, but BH is still my fav. Take care and Salam to all.

None of the current fighters could touch Roy Jones at his peak, when Jones and Hopkins fought they were both in there late 20's which is the age when fighters are at there peaks,The world never saw the best of Jones he was so far ahead of the competition that in most of his fights he just did enough to win,as great as Hopkins is he never reached Jones's level.

I also think they should both retire, they got nothing left to prove,i wouldnt be suprised if they both lost in there comebacks as fathertime catches up with all fighters ,take a look back in history most of the great fighters lost to fighters at the end of there careers who wouldn't of been able to touch them in there prime.

ROY JONES,BERNARD HOPKINS thanks for the memories....

Yeah no doubt Hops lost to RJJ and RJJ easily beat him. But Hopkins was did not get to his prime till late 90s. Its very rare for 2 fighters to meet in their peak.

Ladkilakdiladki, altough I am a Bernard Hopkins fan, the people who responded to my entry made valid points. Roy was an amazing fighter in his prime. Does he have anything left? I do not know? Does Hopkins have anything left? He certainly does. I borrowed the tape from my friend, and Hopkins did loose to Roy back in 1993. Perhaps, all these years, my mind altered the memory of the fight I saw years ago. Salam.

Ok both these guys are great. B4 RJJ fights Hopkins ...I'd like to see if he has anythin left, RJJ-Tarver III will tell. Doesnt seem like Roy Jones has lost his speed but I think his invincibilty has been taken away, Glen Johnson would never have done what he did to Roy if it wasnt for Tarvers KOing RJ in my opionion. Also Roy Jones likes to fight in spurts and Glen just mugged him with excellent D. Back to back devastaging KO losses, RJJ cant be the same man anymore.
Hopkins is past his prime but he has more left than RJJ.

Salam. I usually go to the libraries in the city, as well as the book stores; I will check it out. To see any fighter at that skill level suffer from permanent head trauma is sad. However, it will be great to read up on it. Salam, Luisfigo.

The McClellan-Benn fight represented the good, the bad, and the ugly about the sport. The electricity, the bravery, the violence and unfortunately the tragedy. The book 'War, Baby' by Kevin Mitchell about that fight is a must-read.

Salam. I'll look him up. That is very unfortunate and tragic in regards to Gerald. I guess Roy is the man. I hope he gets his skills back to where it was just for one more match. AS for Bernard, I want him to get his belts back since he was ripped off. Salam.

the fight i would of loved to have seen would of been Roy Jones against Gerald McClellan,i think gerald beat him as an amateur.Anyway on saturday 25 th february 1995 i was at a packed out london arena in front of 12,000 screaming fans to see gerarld fight our own Nigel Benn who had already beaten tuff Yanks like rodbbie simms, doug dewitt and destroyed iran barkley.

After 30 seconds of the opening bell Benn was punched thru the ropes by a haymaker of a punch by McCllelan but managed to hold on till the end of the round, after 10 savage rounds the referee had to stop the contest as gerald was in no position to continue, both fighters spent the night in hospital, unfortunately for gerarld McClellan he suffered brain damage and will most likely be handicapped and be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life,Roy jones against either one of these 2 warriors would of been an awesome fight because these 2 fighters only new one way to fight and that was to come forward,my love for the fight game changed after this fight and now i try not to get emotionally involed.

the thing is he shouldnt of got disqualified in the first fight ,griffin had one knee on the floor and jones just tapped him lightly on the head and so he ended up losing his 100% record at the time

The only RJJ fight I've seen where he was truly angry at his opponent was the rematch with Montell Griffin. He got DQed in the first fight and then absolutely smoked Griffin in the first round of the rematch. Handspeed like I'd never seen before!

The one thing i like about Roy was like Ali he was a compassionate fighter, always did enough to win, tried to beat his opponents with as less pain to them as possible, unless they made him angry before a fight then he would really turn it on,i believe the world never saw the best of Roy because at his peak he had no one that could push him, much like Ali whom was at his fighting peak when he was banned for 3 and a half years because he was a balck man and didnt want to travel 10,000 miles to the otherside of the world to kill the yellowman because the whiteman was telling him so.

I agree with Figo,Roy gave him a boxing lesson ,it was an easy fight for Roy and like most of his fights he did enough to win,had he wanted to Roy could of taken it on another couple of levels but as it was an easy fight he just played with bernard,i believe both fighters should now retire, they got nothing to prove.

You sure you watched the same fight I did in '93? Even Hopkins has said on many occasions that he lost that fight. It was on the undercard of that horrid Riddick Bowe-Jesse Ferguson card. Heavyweights haven't improved much since then.

And I think RJJ will beat Tarver in their their upcoming fight.
