Congrats to all d Montrealers and Torontonians who took part in d Terry Fox Run yesterday! It was so cool to see the 100s of ppl who put their best feet forward to raise money for cancer research and for those afflicted with cancer. This was my first marathon run and although I cudn?t finish the full 10 K? I think the 5K I did get done was a great first. But what is more special is that this year is the 25th anniversary of Fox?s Marathon of Hope. Somany ppl ran for their family members or friends or someone they know that is afflicted with some kinda cancer? I decided to run for my patients on the Oncology ward where I work. It was so much fun? b4 it started all the runners stretched to the sounds of a live band playing merengue music!! So tht definitely helped getting us energized! But i?m happy to say that we helped raise more than $120,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation and the national earnings for 2005 they say are sure to surpass $32 million!!!!!!! So congrats to all those who participated! we'll find a cure for cancer one day inshaAllah.
