Runner's low?

Well, so I have been on a running plan that was going well for me but life has now interrupted my plan. It started out with my social calendar getting too crowded, then I had to go out of town. Do ever notice when you get invited too something during the week you actually have to think twice before you say yes because you will miss your run? And now that the weather is nice and the days are longer I've been running mostly outside, which is good and bad. When I was going to the gym at least twice a week I would lift twice a week and I would do sit ups and stuff every day. But now that its nice out I hate going to the gym but I have to put myself back on that schedule because I feel like I'm becoming the pillsbury dough girl. Lifting and sit ups I didn't realize were contributing so much to my fitness level. After being wacked by a biker last week during my run I think that sort of threw me off my schedule a little, I still cringe a little when I see a bike come near me. I'm sure that will wear off. Then I got really busy and went out of town. And it is now been three days since I last ran and a week and half since I went to the gym. Ever so often life gets to crazy and my running schedule gets totally messed up. Not sleeping properly really takes away all your energy and running becomes out of the picture cause your too tired. I was up to ten miles three weeks ago now I"m all screwed up and I think I'll have to scale back and build up again. So I'm hoping this weekend I will get back on track to my running plan and sleeping normal which hasn't happened as of today because its 4 am and I can't sleep so I have decided to waste hour of the night on naseeb. I was wondering what you guys do when your running schedule gets all messed up or when life screws you up by getting too busy or crazy or when you have to travel. Especially when you travel and stay with family how do you fit running in?

yeah cupcake a break would be good. I'll have to schedule one:). In the winter I went ot the gym every day. If I didn't run I did some cardio and lifted. I have to get back into going to the gym three times and run outside 4 times a week like normal and I'll be back on track. I realize I can pop right back into my 20 miles a week since I've been off it too long. Yeah your masti I need to stick to 12 miles a week for now and get back to the gym the days I don't run.

....try to gradually get back to running and find a routine that is comfortable which means not too many runs...also substitute other activities such as walking or pilates to try to maintain a degree of fitness and form..
