Salary survey: where do you stand?

Salary surveys are odd things, almost like that horror movie which demands your attention even though you know you might be scared by what you see. There is a strange fascination with seeing where your wage fits in with the average.

If you come out as average, all well and good, and above average is even better. But if your wage is below then it leaves you wondering exactly who these people are who earn so much, where do they work, and can I get a job there?

As an order of magnitude, this suggests that UAE nationals are comparable in income terms with the population of countries such as the UK; but The great majority of the expatriates employed population are from Asian Countries (74%) they earns under AED 3,000 ($ 840) amount expatriate workers other than managers and professionals (i.e. the vast majority - 80% - of the Expatriate labor across all occupations and skills levels) earned an average of AED 1500 per month ($ 410). The top 20% of the expatriate population (managers and comparable occupations) earned an average of AED 10,000 per month ($ 2,740).
