San Diego - Dullville, CA.

I've been in San Diego for a month now, and it is sapping my will to live.

It is possibly the most boring place I have ever visited.

Does anybody wish to disabuse me of this notion?

Mona and I are going to the Eid Mela, if anyone interested to carpool with us, let me know. Hiking on Sunday is a great idea. Hesham, post the details and the time, 9am should be good for most ppl I think.

The hike I have in mind is approx 5 miles round trip and about 900 ft elevation gain. We would do it at a pretty moderate pace. And we can hang out at the top for a little while which is quite scenic on a clear day. Mission Trails park is off Hwy 52 east of the 15 fwy. I can post more detailed info later. I would like to get an idea of how many people are interested. Sunday is better since Saturday is the Eid carnival at ICSD.

Yes it is an Urdu thing... Chand = moon, Raat = night. in islam... everything usually happens the night before an event. so the night before Eid is when all the muslims come out to par-tay. Maybe not the arabs... but at least the indian's do. ^__^

Eid Mela on Nov 6th from10am to 5pm... I'll show up with my group at about 3pm-ish and meet up with some other people for the first time. Then probably have an after party once the Eid Mela closes down (most likely go to cerritos).

There is a rumor about a chand Raat as well in OC

If we are going to do events for people travelling in over a large distance... morning activities might be prohibative =( especiall when trying to organize several people for a morning trip coupled with at least a couple hour commute.

Evening activities might go over a little better with the distant folks.

Plus we already have the Eid Mela event in Orange County to attend on the 6th. (which might not be a bad thing for you guys to trek up for... it's in the middle between LA and SD).

I am willing to organize a day hike in Mission Trails Park for next Sunday (Nov 6th). We can do a 2-3 hour hike in the morning then go for a buffet lunch. How does that sound ??

If you did something on a Saturday or Sunday... I'd trek out. I also have some pull with some folks here so if you plan in advance... I could get a carpool going from LA.

I have the LA/OC events posted well in advance... so you SD people could plan/schedule in advance if u wanted to trek on up here.

We also have more of an inner circle of events that are not posted (usually done via evites... but it's for people we know and are good folks).

You should go to the SoCal events... But it's going to be a trek for you to come up to OC or LA. But usually that's where all the action is. SD is a nice place to retire once u r old. :)
