Sarkar
I've read some very positive reviews about this movie. Surprisingly, though, noone has written about it in this village. I am planning on watching it this Friday. Depending on how much I like it the first time, I may stay for the proceeding show and watch it again. I haven't been this excited about a movie, since Khakee.

This is Going to be Abhishek's Year First Bunty and Bubli, and Now Sarkar.

Abhishek is stepping it up with every movie..
At the beginning of the film, RGV presents Sarkar as a tribute to Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather. RGV has also made it clear in numerous interview that Sarkar is his attempt at presenting Bachchan in a way he perceived and idolized him as a fan. He does a fine job of creating Sarkar as a cross between the Godfather and Bachchan's 70's persona that many of us grew up aping.
As for the performances, Amitabh Bachchan is a treat to watch in an underplayed role of Subhash nagre. The power and the presence of AB is notable in numerous scenes where he does not say a word and yet manages to steal the scenes. Sarkar will be remembered for Abhishek as Zanjeer is remembered for Amitabh. In many ways, the power struggle and the rise of Shankar (Abhishek) represents his rise as an actor trying to fill his dad's rather large shoes. Abhishek looks as cool as Amitabh did in movies like Trishul, Zanjeer, and Deewar.
The dialogue is the best I've heard in a while. The pacing is perfect for what RGV is trying to depict and the narrative, crisp.
Don't let my raving fool you, however. The film does not come without flaws. The background score is jarring. I wish there was a way to turn it down or just shut it off complete at times. The background music tries to undermine the audience's intelligence by telling the viewer how to perceive a scene. The film also is no Godfather, just as Godfather was no Deewar. In other words, Sarkar is an out and out Bollywood film. The pacing, the villains, and the unquestionable, godly power the heroes possess are all a throwback to the vintage Amitabh-films.
Bottom line, Sarkar is the best movie of this year!
