what's surprising to me is that it has been around for quite some time! i agree with what you're saying, ali...too idealistic

Lily: That sounds very idealistic. I mean, a world without insanity, criminals and wars sounds too good to be true... I wish it existed. However, this sect seems more scary to me because in order for its agenda to work, everyone on earth has to be part of their sect and practicing that religion. What that means, you have one set of mind and goals that are to be imposed on 7 billion individuals... I don't think this is even possible... They would perhaps go on a Cruisade and try to spread it around by shedding some blood and "cleansing" earth of those "criminals".

this is the official church site i found: www.scientology.org

and here is a briefing of what i learned:

The aims of Scientology are a world without insanity, without criminals, without war, where the able can prosper and where Man is free to rise to greater heights.

And if you were to ask any Scientologist they would tell you it is a practical religion, with practical answers ? tools that can be applied to achieve greater awareness and purpose in the here and now.
