Serenity
I assume that most of us if not all, are sci-fi fans and that's how we came to love Star Trek. So hopefully it will be ok for us to discuss some other topics as well.
So anyone watched this show on the sci-fi channel and saw the movie? I watched all episode myself and couple of days ago I watched the movie.
I tell you the truth, when I saw the first episode I did not like the show and though this is another space cowboys type of show. just some actions that has nothing to do with sci-fi. but a little by little it grow on me and I really liked it. am not sure what about it but it got my attention. Call me silly, but I loved that little song they played in the beginning of the show:
Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me...
what do you guys think?

i for one think this series is fantastic. i'd never heard of it, and just rented the movie, serenity, last weekend. it was really well done. it was like watching a movie about hans solo. i rented a few of the show's dvds, and it was getting really good.
i've become a fan of the western genre over the past few years, and this show represented the perfect synthesis of scifi and the old west.
the Fifith element is one of favorate as well, that one is a classic.
One of my FAVORITE all time sci-fi movie is "THE FIFTH ELEMENT".
I have seen that movie over 40 times. and every time its better then the last time.
