Shoes and matching handbag??

Yay or nay?? I have a tendency of wanting to match my shoes to my handbag - if nothing else matches I don't care but as long as the two go somewhat together I am digging my outfit (and if my watch adds in that extra zing) what is your take on this fashion accessory??

And when can it be too much?

The link below is actually of a handbag I have but I think in this case the shoes are pushing it - img156.echo.cx

I'm a victim of shopping .. and style .. but I hate being like everybody else ..

but personally I'd rather I didn't match the brand name on both shoes and bags .. thats just too much ..

that bag in the picture would look great with a black of pair of stilletto heeled boots .. or like i said black tie up sandals ..

if ur going to wear the shoes on their own .. wear a black bag a small one like a clutch .. u dont want to overshadow the shoes .. I wouldn't wear them at all seperately or together i like my shoes to be a statement on their own .. without the brand name on them ..

all u really need to do to match hand bags and shoes is to match one color in the hand bag with the shoes ..

I wear my burburry's bowler bag with big high heeled clogs in tan .. or beige sandals with applique flowers on the side .. or a pair of black sandals too ..
the bag goes with it all ..
I bought a nine west hand bag in green and to go with it I got a pair of shoes from payless that have a boe in green .. but they're peekaboo sandals .. so they look ok .. actually I wore them with a pair of beige cargo pants that tie up to the knee with a white sleeveless v neck .. the whole out fit was about the shoes and bag then ..

anyways Im getting carried away .. Im starting to sound like i dont care about anything cept my wardrobe when I actually do care about world peace too

Pearls are always valued over diamonds, becuase pearls always maintain that sophisticated, elegant look, which dates back to old Hollywood Glamor. Shoes, then purse, but both should match. Kudos to those who do match them, for those who try but, aren't quite successful, its ok, just make sure your shoes are really, really cute, that they overshadow your understated bag.

totally! it's like a guy who doesn't match his tie with his socks, or his shoes with his belt. oh the horror!

and if that bag is actually light in color like a beige like I think it is .. wear with it denim blue jeans that are tight and cropped or folded up and a mini pink bolero around a white or off white satin tank or tee with lace .. add on a string of pearls ur set .. hmm i think im wearing that tomorrow .. oh and put your hair up in a huge pile on top of ur head ..

I think .. sure why not .. personally though I woulda wore teh shoes on their own and matched a big bowler bag with a silver chain on it .. u can buy one at the dollar store and stick it on .. it looks top class .. or the bag by itself with black stilleto sandals that wrap around the ankle.. and cropped pants to right below the knee .. if they're cargos that tie up at the knee even better ..

Your shoes and bag should match in color scheme. But if you want to go the extra length of having a matching pattern, then you gotta keep the rest of the outfit rather simple and monotone. Otherwise you might just ruin the whole outfit.

lol I know it is too much but SOMETIMES it doesn't hurt to be matching like that - it is overkill but at least you know someone won't be wearing the same exact thing

yeah, lisa, that would just be overkill. my general philosophy is to match shoes and bag to a similar color theme, but they don't have to be exactly the same pattern.

Yes, girl..I would say in this case, that's a bit too much!! I guess it depends on your outfit, the color schemes you're taking about but I'm with you..I'm in to matching bag, shoes and watch even when I can...but not necessarily to the point of the pic above..Chanel bag with identical Chanel matching shoes..that's a bit much for me even!
