Should I go to India or Pakistan??

Hi everyone!
I thought maybe someone here could help me out with a problem I am having. I have a wedding outfit all planned out in my head, meaning what color and fabric etc. I know kind of what kaam I want- probably some golden type embroidery with swarovski crystals and beadwork- something really nice. Problem is that Im having it sewn overseas and I can either get it made in Pakistan or India.
Now not to get nationalistic or anything but IS there a difference in the "Kaam" you can get in Karachi vs. Bombay (thats the choices that I have). I want something that is nice but not very heavy WEIGHT wise. I also want it to be kind of delicate and graceful but sparkly.
I have ever only been to Pakistan and I know that they have what I want. But my aunt is going to Bombay and I can go with her too.
OR is there really no difference?
Price doesnt matter that much but what really matters is the quality of the work.

Any responses from someone who has had experiences in both places (or any info) would be SO appreciated.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm half indian and half pakistani- You CAN get beautiful kaam in India but it will cost you much much more than in Pakistan. In Pakistan they specialize in bridal lenghas and kaam- it's more of an established industry, with a high standard of quality. Don't get me wrong, you will find ugly heavy work in Pakistan but the established standard is a bit lower in India. Indian bridal clothing ranges from saris to lenghas with saris being much much more common and worn more frequently especially in states close to Bombay- like Gujrat and Maharastra. However, if you go up to Delhi or other northern areas you will find lenghas. But even my Indian relatives and friends admire and relish the quality of work from Pakistan. I'd have to say go with Pakistan. Make sure you have someone in Pakistan to show you around though. I've had some tough experiences.

every single person on here has recommended work from their own country so i suppose there is bias! SeasonsIndia and bargello shop have good designs you can see online and print out for reference. Both countries have custom made tailored clothes, so there should be no difference in style if you are submitting the designs yourself. Go whereever is more convenient; quality is good.

When are you getting married Justalarki? Soon?
I think American Wedding dresses are gorgeous and elegant (even if they are slightly boring). The brides always make such an ENTRANCE.

I own both Indian and Pakistani made outfits...I think Pakistani made outfits are classier. The kaam is also nicer, light weight and delicate,( mix of resham, crystals, and sometimes even authentic stones) the cloth used is delicate silk and a lot of designers mix different textures of cloths to give it a nice textured look. I find that with indian kaam it looks ok from a distance or in a picture but when seen from upclose it sort of has a cheapish look...no offence to any one who prefers that Indian kaam..just my personal view. Pak wedding dresses esp from Lahore or ISlamabad are just beautiful and there are lots of designers, who will tailor the cut, color and kaam according to what will suit your body shape and complexion.

although living in pakistan i would still recommend u to go to india cuz the kind of work u ll get frm there is not comparable at all to da pakistani work plus its lot more cheaper, n apart frm hyderabad, bombay n delhi u must go to banglore as well..

I think you can get better "kaam" in Pakistan...more details and practicality in terms of the weight and design. Lahore is much better for bridal wear than Karachi though you can find some good designers there as well. If India is easier for you, I would recommend checking out Sheetal India. They have some good stuff in their catalogues although the cut of some of their designs is too revealing for a Muslim bride.
