Sid if you are serious about getting to the bottom of ?that charity night? then you?ve got to stop directly or indirectly slandering people on a public forum. Why don?t you just get in touch with the charities commission, their web address is www.charity-commission.gov.uk telephone is 0845 300 0218.
However, before you do that you need to contact Muslim Aid www.muslimaid.org telephone is 020 7377 4200. Muslim Aid have very strict procedures as to who they allow to use their logo on flyers etc. You will also need to provide them with the names and if possible addresses of the organisers as well as copies of the flyers. The more information the better. Ask to speak to the fund raising officer.
Depending on what Muslim Aid confirm what they have received and what they have authorised use of, you then need to contact the Charities Commission and provide all details to them and they will they advise you of the best course of action. If they see it fit they will perhaps take over the case themselves and/or advise you to now go to the police. Charities Commission take matter like this very seriously.
If what you allege is true then this is a criminal offence and is punishable by a custodial sentence. As you?re a solicitor you will no doubt already know that.

Labs I notice how quickly you jumped and left a comment within seconds of this post being put up. Perhaps you can do the same and state how much so far has been forwarded to what charity?
By not answering this simple question you are only allowing people to think the worst. Forget the whole concept of punishment in the afterlife some people love to go on about.
The fact is you are giving people ammunition to believe that a crime was committed and by continuing to keep this vow of silence will only lead to someone eventually taking action through the appropriate authorities.
Sid1234 was mistaken in his belief that it was a matter for Trading Standards and many have poked fun at his/her attempts.
But bottom line is by not letting anyone know what happened to their money you are deliberately allowing people to believe it has been pocketed by the organisers, which in essence under the law of England and Wales is a crime.
I?m not trying to threaten anyone nor cause rifts. Just pointing out the obvious.
