Sister Ayah from Arizona

I have a problem that I need to address Isalmically,
I have 3 kids and 8yr old who alhumdulallah attends islamic school and 9 month old twins. Their father has been deported to egypt over a year ago. I myself am a new muslim 18 months now. Alhumdul Allah.
I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. which shows itself in the form of flashbacks, panic attacks and severe disassociation. I sincerely need help with this matter. The Imams in my area, Arizona USA, do not have any knowledge of such things and therefore have not even attempted to be of any assistance through Quoran or otherwise. I have no one to guide me in this matter. You sound as if you are of sound knowledge of the mind and the Quoran. Please for sake of Allah, can you help me Inshaallah. My E-mail is [email protected].
Please if you can help me however you can, and I will pray to subhanna wa ta allah, for you and your kids to be safe forever, and that allah may accept your good deed, inshaallah.

Assalam-u-Alakum sister,
I think this is more of a medical problem and I am not sure if imams will be able to help you in that. I would consult a psychiatrist. I don't know what you exactly mean be when you say "I have a problem that I need to address Isalmically" because Islam tells you to use all available means and get treatment if you suffer from illness.
If you mean you want treatment through prayers etc. Then I guess besides five obligatory salats, Sufi style meditations and dhikar is very helpful to deal with stress. I am however not expert enough to prescribe some meditation. You might want to post the same question in the Sufism village and Allah willing somebody will be able to help you with that.
