sounds great! i am having the hardest thing moving along since i just finished the kite runner about a week ago.. i think i need some time to heal before i can read another book... );

HS, you should definately pick up Snow. It has everything: politics, intrigue, the struggle between secular and extremist Islam. Sounds pretty heavy, i know. But really, in the end, it all just boils down to a simple, tragic, love story.

I read an excerpt in Granta a few months back that was fabulous. Interested in hearing peoples reviews. I've also heard really good things about My Name is Red.

I've read this. It was bit tragic at some points, but all in all, a good read.
