Social Texans, Please Step Up!
My next strategy project takes me to Austin for god knows how long so it's a must I find out the hot scenes in town. Referrals to good restaurants, best shopping area, and lounges/clubs where the scenery is "easy on the eye" would be most appreciated!

Nope, I can't change my mind. Believe me the most beautiful place in the world can be a hell if people around you are not good... ever heard of Kashmir...
I love Austin coz of wonderful people I met there.. no surprize... 50% of population has at least Bachelors and rest are working towards it.
Ride a bus in Austin... and then dare to take a train or bus in Chicago, you will know the difference.
Any ways.... have fun.. try catching some film festival/UT student organisations' activities or Informal classes (you can even learn to do parachute jumping pretty cheap)...

Appreciate the input, been able to check out some nice restaurants and live bands during all the SXSW hoorah. As far as a special someone, the only one I?m stuck to at the hip 24/7 is this hardcore ?Geek? principal of mine and darling it ain?t much by choice..lol!
I will say though that for you guys, Austin will be a sheer delight with the handful of hot blondie bambinas! But they hold no candle to the NY, London, Italy, and Paris market ;)!!
And Lost, Austin is nice but sweetheart if this is your favorite place in the world, then YOU SERIOUSLY NEED TO DO MORE TRAVELING..LOL!!!!!!!!! OK, I?m totally going to get ambushed but I couldn?t refrain. BUT THANK YOU FOR STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE WITH YOUR SUGGESTSIONS?SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!
I will recommend a couple of coffee houses. Mozart by the lake and JPs Java. (just google it)
There is a resturant by Lake Austin on the top of a hill... the best scenery ever.. I think its name is Oasis.
Oh yeah.. if you like natural places you can visit Ink's lake state park. It has huts on the lake... So many deers there... I think its a good place to go with "the special some one" ;) You can do canoeing there. Also you can go canoeing right in the down town Zilker park.
As far as "easy on the eye" scenery is concerned, well any thing around UT will be good.
