Some lifelong ambitions
I went on a 5 week trip to Pakistan recently and fulfilled two 'lifelong' ambitions (seriously), 1) to attend a Pakistani wedding in Pakistan and 2) to visit the archaeological remains of the ancient indus valley civilisation at Harappa. I have other ambitions in life, don't get me wrong, but I'm just happy that a couple of them were finally realised. Any ambitions anyone else has fulfilled lately?

Okay, I just got back from my first trip to Egypt. I went to Luxor in the main so I saw Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple (both by day and night) and went to the West Bank to see Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens... Egypt is 'living history' even if much of it is in ruin... Really opens one's eyes... I found it such a humbling experience, least of all because Egypt had such a rich and powerful empire but their refusal to believe in one God did bring about their downfall, like many a civilisation before them and many a civilisatoin after them... If anyone's interested, there are some lighthearted travel musings in my journal about the trip!
