i guess, its just that i brought up th matter cos i would call myself moderately religious n i go2religious meetins once in a while with frendz,etc.. n i dont think prayin,etc...makes 1 a fanatic, cos ure supposed2do it if ure muslim.but my point is ive spoken2a no of women here who@1st site r really nice,etc..but once u meet more often, many of thm try2instill all these ideas n most of them r superficial, its not bout bein good2others,etc..its bout 'girls who go out2cafes r bad'... thats what i mean.some ppl tend2generalise bout others things they kno nothin bout.i just find it contradictory, thatz all

The inside matters more. Wearing hijab doesn't automatically make a gurl better than non-hijabi nor special. I also think Nsw put it right this argument can go both ways. Anyway who is religious and who is not? To me being religious means believing in a religion and practicing it, you can't say I'm not religious and continue to say I'm Muslim or Christian or Jew. Nowadays if you pray you are fanatic, if you fast you're too religious and if you don't you're moderate and mu3tadil go figure..

thnx u guys4th input.but no,i didnt mean girls who wear th hijab exclusively.i just meant ive read alot of literature n spoken2many ppl who r outspokenly religious who just assume that cos a girl doesnt wear hijab,etc...that ud b ignorant of ur religion, which isnt tru.i think ive bumped into such ppl more in th west tho,bak home most ppl r th best, bas ive noticed that there r others who judge even ppl at home as not bein strict enuf,or bein2 'cultural'.some ppl seem2think that its th outside that matters most eg what u wear n where u go,as opposed2just feelin connected with ur religion, altho i am definately one4dressin modestly n never think its appropriate2wear bikinis,etc...but still.basically,my point is there r some ppl who may b religious, but r just really hard, not as warm as ud think some1 really religious should b?...am i makin sense?

I agree with NSW on this, although I have not been in a situation where someone called me religious!

I think as long as people are not "forcing" ideas and culture on other people, we would be in a completely happy place. Opposites can co exist and be friends. One of my co workers (an American) is hard core republican, and (you guessed it) loves G. Bush. We get into intelligent conversations about politics and religion all the time, but we have a great deal of respect for each other and our cultures. So we get along great, no judgment!

I guess what I?m trying to say is that if your not trying to tell a hejabi to take it off, or them not tell you put one on, you can get along and be friends regardless of your situation.

But then you do have those people that try to shove their ideas on you. And I do hate that!
