talking about euro guys being soft...bogut seems to be a little different...though maybe not the smartest move calling out kobe when you're about to play for the bucks/hawks

There's no one I really hate, but Kobe (Bryant) had a demeanor of being very cocky," he said. "What happened with Shaq.... If I had a chance to play with Shaq or Tim, if they told me to buy them groceries, I don't care, I buy them groceries. It's a gift to play with somebody like that. Kobe is probably one of the guys that, everybody knows it, he's got that cocky arrogance to him, everything has to surround around him the whole time. Otherwise, he doesn't function. That's the biggest example.

"If you're playing with Shaquille (O'Neal), a hall of famer, you keep your mouth shut and play if you want more rings," Bogut continued

hmmm, i think it was the spurs...with parker as the starting point in 2003 and parker/ginobli starting in 2005. I do think that in general, they tend to be softer, though the spurs have a guy in the pipeline who'll probably come over next year who is anything but soft...it's gonna be awesome.

I think Deron Williams will be a big time bust. Living in Big Ten country, I got to see most of his games, and his is SLOW SLOW SLOW although he can see the court well, I woul rather have Chris Paul or Felton over Williams anyday of the week.

As for the international players, after Detroit took Darko Milicic when they could have had Wade, Anthony, or Bosh, I have started to really hate European players. Who is the last team to win a championship that had a dominant or star european player? They're so soft.

????salim- i never implied anything like...but i've seen vasquez, andriuskev...whatever his name his and splitter play. they do show international bball games NBA TV. the only guy i saw that impressed me was vasquez. even when milicic came in, i saw him play on TV and i wasn't impressed either. my friend from germany saw him play live and told me that he didn't think he was that good either. obviously im not a scout, but you can get a feel if a player is good or not by watching them, even at the international level. and about the euro's you just mentioned, pietrus and nowitzki were pretty highty coveted coming into the league, and projected as lottery picks. the other three...i didn't really know anyting about; especially krstic and gasol.

Funkadelic - so you're trying to tell us that you saw Dirk Nowitzki (Germany), Krstic (former Yugoslavia), Nikoloz Tskitishvili (Italy), Mickael Pietrus (France, Andrei Kirilenko (Russia), Pau Gasol (Spain) being 1st round draft picks coming out of Europe. Unless you're an NBA scout, follow international basketball or be a victim of the media produciing unbelievable hype around a euro player...99.9999% of us are not going to know names like Martynas Andriuskevicius and Nemanja Aleksandrov. Do people know how good Fran Vasques is? other than him slotted to be gone at #6 to the Jazz.

i dont see any european players having any impact anytime soon. the only guy is probably fran vasquez (spain). aside from the euro players, the draft should be very very deep this year.

the nba draft has been really really dull since 2000. but im actually lookin forward to this year. there are about 5-6 awesome prospects, and about 10-15 very solid players. remember guys, warrick coulda came out as a sophmore and was even projected as a top five pick (one mock had him going as high as 2!!). this year, he's a mid to late first rounder. plus, there hasn't been a draft with this many stud PG's in a while. you'd have to go back to 99' (b.davis, francis, miller, and i think even jason terry) to have this much talent at the point.

well, i think the tarheel trio after williams is interesting...felton will be the best pro i think...lightning quick and starting to develop a decent outside shot (went up 10% this year I think). Really makes that team go...Mccants I'm not so sure about, i kinda felt like he disappeared at times. May has the movies and power to dominate offensively, but I think his defense will be exposed when he's guarding some of the guys his own size or larger. Francisco garcia looks like a guy that if he ever gets an outside shot might be a doug christie/prince type guy...definitely a baller nonetheless. Don't know a whole lot about the internationals...gerald green is very smooth...supposed to be the top high schooler...Notice that the NBA is moving away from drafting high schoolers high? He's the only one in the top 10. Remember the crazy draft with Kwame, Chandler, and Curry in the top 5. Can't believe they traded brand, who was only 21-22, for the right to draft a 7ft high schooler.

Sure they are players AFTER the draft that prove their worth. With exception to Bogut, Williams and Paul - can many ppl name me a few more players worth looking at in the NBA Draft. Probably not.

i dunno...i think a lot of stars appear in drafts that weren't top three...in fact, i read an article that said that no team other than the spurs has won with their #1 pick...think about some of the stars in the playoffs now...stoudemire was what...8? Wade was 4 or 5, after a stud, a near stud, and a stiff...dirk was mid teens (13?) traded for robert, the tractor, traylor...etc. it'd be interesting to see who people think will be a surprise player outside the top three...for me, i'm a huge longhorns fan but outside the big12, i don't usually keep up with college ball so i always welcome other people sharing their thoughts...

Does anyone really care about the NBA draft after the 3rd pick?
