Something I've been thinking about regarding Single Women with kids

I added this question to a couple of Villages and I will add it here as well. Just something I've been thinking about.

Why are guys afraid to consider single women with children? I know if a guy falls for a woman and she has kids, maybe he will accept the children, but if he knows ahead of time that she has children, he might not even want to give her a chance. Why are men so afraid of children?

Along the same line, why are men afraid to adopt other children if they have their own? Many would consider it if they don't have their own children, but otherwise would not like to adopt.

Thanks Umber and Junaid. Very good points.
I used to worry about that but now I don't. If a guy really likes me for me, then I will give him a chance and see how things go. If he cannot accept the fact that I have a child, then its good to know upfront so neither of us wastes our time and emotions.

Many men are commitment-phobic... it is like dragging a mule who is digging its heels in the ground...to get a guy to commit to a relationship...to marriage..to have his OWN kids..

so.. it makes sense that when faced with the responsibility of kids ...when considering a woman he's just met.. a man wants to bolt...

i found..when i wore hijab.. a lot of guys would avoid talking to me because they felt they needed to be "respectful" of a girl wearing hijab. they felt that starting to talk to a hijabi implied a level of seriousness... a degree of commitment..that they didn't want to deal with.. they'd rather talk to a girl who they felt would have fewer expectations from them...where they had fewer expectations of themselves...where it could be more casual... and less scary...

it is the same sort of mentality with kids.. a guy feels like if he starts talking to a woman with kids... things will move along more quickly...and will have more expectations from him than a woman without kids..and they don't want that sort of pressure..

not that i'm a guy...of course..so i guess i'm not really qualified to answer..
