South Asia Earthquake Relief
I know, wrong forum. But HDF (Human Development Foundation) is collecting donations for the quake also. They're not necessarily a disaster relief organization, but they have an Earthquake Fund, and I'm sure relief will be a big part of it. But they do things to rebuild a community -- setting up businesses, microloans, building schools, health clinics -- what our brothers and sisters need in the areas hit. It's ongoing charity. You can also donate online thru a credit card. Link below:

Comments on this journal
- "Temperatures are dropping to below zero with an increasing risk of hypothermia."
- "British medical relief teams have predicted thousands of quake victims could die from the effects of cold weather, illness and untreated, infected wounds....the biggest problem for thousands is the lack of shelter. Entire villages are sleeping outdoors in increasingly harsh conditions, many lacking warm clothing or blankets."
Over the coming weeks, we must do our utmost to get tents into the affected areas.
OPEN Silicon Valley has put together a page listing three organizations that are involved in purchasing and sending tents to Pakistan. The page can be found at: opensiliconvalley.com
