This film is abt the story of a single hispanic mums struggle bringing up her child in USA and her attempts to keep her child with in her culture.
A touching story.

I was disappointed with Adam Sandler, he was a bit same as usual. I was expecting a really funny film cos he was in it. The humor is subtle The actress was hot and i liked the plot althought it could have been better explored.

Tea Leoni is really believable as a psychotic self obcessed mum.

I liked Sandler in this because he wasn't crazy and annoying. I don't likeh is typical humor. This film shows he is multi-faceted.

I saw this and felt a little disappointed but on the whole it was okay. I liked the whole issue of identity and how it can so easily be lost when minorities (and in this case the younger generations) try to 'fit in'. I liked the character of the single mum, she had a strong sense of identity and responsibility and yet maintained her feminity (and vulnerablility) with dignity, a wonderful role model for her own daughter.

I think Sandler was very good in the role. His role wasn't about being the funny guy....instead it was about being the "nice" guy. The scene where he finds out about his wife's secret....was really well handled by him. Also the scene where he finds out he owns the little girl over 600 hundred dollars.....well done.
