So has anyone signed up as yet? Or are we just providing evidence for Darya's thesis ... Desi's are Cheap?

Well yeah it does mean a lot...to you. :) To us is just a fun cartoon! :)

I lived in Madagascar for 4 years ... does that mean anything?

I'd say it's the Madagascar factor...

Ohh, you mere humans, our alien friend Pakidude's logic is simple. He is tying to imply that conducting an experiment with speed-dating and sitting there, witnessing it first hand would be the same if zoo animals, who have been captured against their will and held in cages for entertaiment of us, human being, would break free and ran towards our human shelters, and look in our human windows at us, having our human dinner.

So, I conclude the followinh: either Pakidude thinks that witnessing speed-dating is inhuman, or he watched Madagascar more than once and it went too far into his head.

:D

Darya ... LOL. OK you got me. The concept may be lame due to the steep dues (;)) and the Desi culture ... LOL

Its the same concept a of hurrydate. They are doing pretty well IN US and Europe . Check hurrydate.com owned by Ken and Adale. Onlyaasp2- good to know someone has already cashed on this concept in India. I suggested Ken to introduce it in India and some parts of SA:)

Ohh, black_belt, don't be. It's not the worst generalization of mine you've witnessed :). Plus, if someone actually paid the $53 and went to the event, I'd be much less likely to generalize.

I am upset with Darya's generalization ... :@

I went three times to different locations with a group of us who were working on a project and we had passes and had to sit behind one-sided glass and the participants didn't know we were there! But I really dont know if you can walk-in and be the audience like that... I'll find out and see if it's possible...

I haven't taken part in any of the speed datings but have watched a couple of them happen for a project for my psychology class when we were studying snap-judgement and it's strength. It seems quite fun! If you have read the book "Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking" by Malcolm Gladwell, u'll have more insight on it.

But yea like everyone else said, it's good see that things are progressing in our culture too! It'd be quite interesting to see how this one goes...

Wait $53 is tooo expensive for a chance to find a person who may potentially be your spouse?

Desis are stingy :( (Darya's conclusion of the day)

ahhh so the muslims are finally catching up. Its funny, speed dating has also begun in India. I think its a very good idea. Finding a life partner can be a very difficult task, so good luck to those who attend.
