Thanks Chocogurl, insha'Allah he/she will :) Here is what I found for you: Soft, unpasteurized cheeses like feta, Brie, Camembert, and goat - as well as ready-to-eat meats like hot dogs and deli meats - may contain Listeria, bacteria that cause mild flu-like symptoms in most adults but can be very dangerous for unborn babies. Listeriosis, the infection caused by the bacteria, can cause miscarriage, premature birth, or severe illness or death of a newborn. Cheddar, American cheese, cottage cheese, cream cheese, and yogurt are safe choices during pregnancy.

(This makes me think that the fact that it is UNpasteurized is most dangerous, and thus, if you find pasteurized cheese, it's still ok. But I'm going to ask my dr. at my next appointment insha'Allah.)

LOL, it's devastating chocogurl, esp for a cheese addict like me. I do have a ray of hope. If it's pasteurized and not pure goat feta, you can have it.

here is one: sautee onion and garlic, then lamb quarters or ground beef if you like, add dill and cilantro (kuzbara) add black pepper to taste. Then add spinach leave on med heat till it looses all of its water. when it does mix around for a bit. Then take your previously soaked 1 cup of lentils and add to the mix. add some water depending on how thick you want it to be. Let it come to a boil on medium heat until the lentils are done. Then add salt and lemon juice to taste. Let boil for about 2 minutes then its ready :) serve on top of rice i like mine without rice with feta cheese sprinkled on top :) enjoy

If you like lamb, the way that some Palestinians cook spinach is with lamb& chick peas. This is what you do: Take the chopped lamb (chopped like the size of stew meat) and put it in a pot of water and let it boil. Right before it boils, some nasty stuff will be on the top of the water. You have to take all that off. Once it really boils & there's no more of that stuff (I guess it's like fat from the meat, or something?), then you add 1 chopped onion, salt, pepper, and cumin (or just some allspice). You let it boil for about 45 minutes (or until the lamb is cooked the way you like it) on medium-high heat. Then you add spinach (I use 1-1.5 lbs of frozen spinach). After about 10 minutes, put in a can of chick peas. If you'd like, at this point, you can also put into the pot some sauteed garlic and cilantro. Serve over hot rice and squeeze some lemon on the spinach. Voila! A yummy, healthy meal :)
