There is a distinctive ritual of Asian people that they want to see their spouse as different persons from that of their friends. For example most of the Asian guys wouldn?t mind being friends with any sort of women, whereas want to see their wives unobtrusive and submissive. In the same way girls do fancy trendy and play-boys, but when it comes to marriage, they want a decent, polite and cultured man. Is it sort of ?opposite attracts? thing or another stereotype of our south-Asian society?? Pls share you personal views on the subject.

I AGREE MC BUT YOU PAY YOUR PRICE LATER ON EARTH, THIS IS WHY WE HAVE A DIVORCE RATE!!! WE SEEM TO WANT TO MARRY FOR THE WRONG REASONS!!!

What I mean is, we usually spend a lot of time being unfulfilled, because we chase the things which we only think will make us happy. Guys look for obedient skinny chicks who can cook. Girls look for hunky guys with a good job.

The reality is that for most people, there are other qualities and virtues in a future life partner, which are more important. Guys need someone who's caring and who they can open up too. Girls need someone who can be attentive and supportive.

We often pay far too little attention to the important things and instead waste our time chasing the superficial and inconsequential things.

of course it's a control thing! thats what these men crave. trying to get into their minds won't reveal knowledge to fill libraries. perhaps you'll get a couple of sentences. but these loathsome, parasitic gargoyles exist only on a superficial level. they lack the education, sophistication or culture to be any more profound. do i sound harsh? i dont care. i despise hypocrisy and double standards.

then wot abt their own personal character?? why do they play around with other people and dun get married as soon as they can? i think its hypocratic and being muslims we have to keep ourselves modest right at the first place. not after doind all the prohabited acts n then try to find impeccable n modest people.

I am personally agreed with your view ES. But unfortunately this mentality is the bitter reality of vast majority in Asian society

The problem is that we spend our youth chasing what we want, instead of what we need.

i think they're just a bunch of illiterate, curry-shifting, badly-dressed, uncultured, vulgar hypocrites. anyone disagree? no. excellent.
