I think spying is 7aram cause it diminishes trust and creates doubts that are also 7aram. I think the aya in surat al Hujurat teaches the brotherhood and sisterhood qualities.

Eavesdropping is as spying. However, both can be used during war times and are justified as a defense strategic tool. Egyptian president Sadat used it during the 1973 war and was successful! He then called it the deception strategy. Also remembering the history of spies, the name Rafat Al Hajan comes really handy. The man was a spy who lived a ?lie?, even his wife didn?t know his story, yet he is a hero to many Arabs and the sign of defeat to many Israelis.

Ayisha, use your head kiddo...if spying is called spying, it's spying. Spying just ain't right, unless you're fighting a war, but if its eavesdropping you're looking at, then that just ain't right. Then again, eavesdropping makes life more fun for some of us :o)

Naffouri ya bro, that website has some unorthodox beliefs dissiminated by it, so be careful and try not to promote it. Yes, it carries that name 'Sunni'..but its also Sufi-Madhabi-Jahmi. I don't advise one with little fiqh to go there.
