Stock Screens

What's your stock screen, people?

Include the qualitative, but especially, your quantitative requirements. I dont pretend to be a stock guru, but i will share what i've found to work for me. Yahoo has a basic stock screener, other web sites may have more sophisticated ones (lemme know if u found a good one)

Mine:

For non-high-tech/biotech stocks:
LT Debt/Equity < 0.5, PEG (ratio of PE to antic 5 yr growth rate) < 0.90, no rash of recent insider sales, PE < 20. (see PSUN going forward, ANF's recent perf)

For technology/biotech:
Lots of cash, solid intellectual property/pipeline, very little debt (MLNM, HGSI, MYGN, PLCM). It's difficult. Intrastructure plays have done the best (AFFX). And ah, the ones that got away :( (DNA, STJ)

Depressed Stocks:
Solid product, Losing not too much $ based on cash on hand, very little debt, book value at or near stock price, cash not far behind (look at OSTE as an example going forward, CC (circuit city) as a stock bought on this basis a while back)

(stock village disclaimer: Allah knows best)

not sure about aggressive growth... my approach is value/growth. so i like to focus on PEG (PE to 5 yr growth potential), and low debt, and watch those insider transactions. This is meant to prevent losing big on any stock. then u toss in a few longshots that have the revenue/cash to sustain themselves. i generally avoid stocks that are really popular. morningstar.com has a good screen; yahoo finance is ok.

hey. milhouse.. i'm trying to set up a stock screen for identifying stocks that will give me the best rate of return (accelerated growth & moderate beta) in 2 months and capable of beating the dow jownes index... what would you recommend...?
