I have always been into harder rock (system of a down, etc.) but recently wandered into this folk rock genre. I need some good albums to start out with - any suggestions?

I don't like devendra banhart; for whatever reason he kind of creeps me out. i'm sure i'm missing some great stuff, and i know i missed a great show, but i just can't get over it. i'm really digging okkervil river these days... good to listen to while at work.
