TCK - blessing or a curse?

Ever felt it'd been much better if you had just one place you could call 'home', like everybody else?

You consider being TCK a blessing or a curse?

Almost all the prominent figures in history, philosphers, religious scholars etc., were big on travelling. Why?

Could being a TCK be a blessing in disguise?

I believe its a blessing, alhamdulillah, beacuse we then have so many choices and options, we can pick out all the 'bits' about one home that we like, and forget about the 'bits' that we don't like, and hope that another home supplements that LOL.

besides, I love the travelling even though I'm not really a prominent figure in history.... (H)

I always felt jipped that I didn't have that cultural background some do. Then I just looked around a little more deeply and realized that I do have that same background. Only mine involves a lot more countries. Lol...

And no one makes Welsh Cookies like my family does.

Being a TCK is a blessing and not in disguise. Only the foolish and self-limited ones can't see it. There is a famous French writer/philosopher called Montaigne from the 16th century who has written many volumes on the importance to travel to broaden the mind and that a great mind could only be one that had lived different cultural experiences

I think I have mixed feelings about it.. on the one hand, I wish there were one physical place that would always be home to me.

on the other hand, I feel it's a blessing.. to really experience another culture, to the point that you begin to feel comfortable or "at home" in it, I love it! for me, I've really enjoyed it.. to get to know others..to know, understand, and even genuinely appreciate another way of thinking.. to truly bond. it brings home the reality that we have so much in common, so why so much attention to our differences??? in that sense, I think it's a blessing.
