Television Series on Mirza Ghaalib


A must see is Mirza Ghaalib TV series by Gulzar, which was made in late 80's or early 90's. This series was originally made for Doordarshan in India. I think DVD's of the series are available. Naseeruddin Shah is exceptional in the lead role. But, the best part is the songs by Jagjit Singh. Every Ghalib fan should have the CD of the songs from this series.

Leharz, I have a couple of songs from old Ghalib movie as well. Talat Mehmood is awesome. BTW, what's with the quotes around the word 'secular'. :)

hmmm u can download it from coolgoose.com or from sangeetradio.com ... there u have it all Jagjit sings Ghalib all the gazals everything .

I use Yahoo briefcase to share files. But, recently, yahoo changed the sharing policy. Yahoo doesnt allow public sharing unless you are a paid member. Bummer, :( Apologies for realizing it late. If someone has a network share, I can upload the songs. Or if I find a way to share, I'll post the location here. :)
