Haru, a schoolgirl bored by her ordinary routine, saves the life of a cat crossing the road and suddenly her world is transformed. The Cat King rewards her good deed with a flurry of presents, including a very shocking proposal of marriage to his son!

Haru embarks on journey to the Kingdom of Cats where she is nearly forced to marry the cat prince.

This animation was ok. I didnt really feel for Haru but i was entrigued, but even so I would say its worth watching. No where near as good as spirited away.

well u certainly know your stuff Hanis2

The Cat Returns is the sequel of sorts to Whispers of the Heart . In fact, The Cat Returns is actually a story written by the main character in WOTH. Watch WOTH, it really is one of the better Studio Ghibli efforts. I have watched it at least 4 times and I still get the same high every time. TCR is commonly considered as one of the weaker Studio Ghibli releases. I watched TCR with one eye on the telly as had guests over, and was never motivated to really watch it properly.
