The Current trend of Remakes

What is going on with Bollywood (and Hollywood) with all these remakes. There is "Devdas", 'The Don', "Umrao Jaan" and Ram Gopal Varma's "Sarkar" which is a remake of "The God Father"?" I also read somewhere that SRK's "Paheli" is also a remake of an old movie and Rekha wants to do a remake of "Kabhi Kabhi" with a whole new cast. What do you guys think about this? And what movies would you like to see the remake of? Personally I think some movies are nice being redone with better scripts and actors but movies such as Don and Umrao Jaan should be left alone.

remakes and copying r 2 different things... i dont know y do the directors think that if they hav seen a hollywood movie, nobody else havn't. after murder 3 more movies were made of the same story and all flopped... and bachkerehna.... is copy of heartbreakers but still flopped....
even silsila has been remade so many times but with different names....

as much as i love ash, umrao jaan is too much of a classic to be remade

did somebody say Malika Sharawat is topless... my prayers have been answered... I mean besharam

oh yeah im sure malika sherwats acting is what ur going for..shes doing that new movie, the remake of heartbreakers with rekha..looks awful..shes topless in that movie..

not that I'm complaining.. I mean I get to see Mallaika Sharawat with like half her clothes off, I mean acting

I never saw Unfaithful...but yeah that's what my sis-in-law told me....it was ironic since she's from Pakistan...

the story line was a direct rip off of Unfaithful with Diane Lane, Richard Gear...

have u guys seen heartbreakers? the one with sigourney weaver and jennifer love hewitt..i think bach ke rehna baba is a remake of that...the hindi version looks soo much cheaper than the original. the original was hillarious!

i don't know about the whole SRK-Preity-Rani trio again. I mean it worked in Veer-Zaara but I don't know if I want to keep seeing the same casts over and over again. I mean SRK needs to start coming with newer heroines. Like in Swades he looked really good with Gaytri Joshi, Sushmita Sen in Main ho Na and in 'Don' he will opposite Priyanka so it's kind of nice to see them outside of their usual co-stars.

I thought murder was kinda kool....GREAT songs and interesting videos.....interesting story line...and i think Emran Hashmi is a decent actor...

you know what would be cool... if they stopped trying to make american movies in bollywood style... aka Murder...

hasan...that would be a hot cast for the remake of silsila...but even kooler would be if ghauri (SRK"S wife) played jaya's role since she was Amitabh's real-life wife...

I wud like to see Silsila...with SK playing Amitabh, Preity playing Rekha and Rani playing Jeeya Bachan....

ITA about Umrao Jaan - esp if its true that Aish is gonna be in it - blech blech blech. Remaking the Don doesn't bother me as much, as that was an obvious remake of something else. :P
