The Eternal Debate

I know this maybe too banal to be even talked about but I guess like every trekie (or trekker) I think the question needs to be asked. Capt. Jean Luc, Capt Kirk, or Janeway.

Alright, I guess you guys have to excuse me for stating only three captains. I know that it was more of a narrow minded approach, but I guess I was going for an operational ship captain.

I grant that Sisko was a great captain, and more so under the circumstances (Maintaining the portal to the Gamma Quadrant) but I would have to go with Jean Luc. I think its his humanity that won him over. I mean there were times that he was an absolute super hero in the face of adversity but then at times he proved to be so human that his failings were brought about in the most vulnerable way. I think I could relate to him in that I-can-see-myself-like-that sense. But obviously Kirk, Janeway, and Archer were also great captains.

Archer if given time could have become a good character but I know as a fan that we have to lose Star Trek from time to time in order to gain its appreciation.

Not to mention Quantum Leap guy from the prequel series.

What about Sisko or other captains?

I think in terms of pure captaincy, Jean Luc was the best.

In terms of charisma, Kirk.

But I liked Janeway and Sisko, too, they all had their good qualities.

Forgive me Janeway. Forgive me.

I liked Janeway.
But I have to say Picard. I just have to.
