Synopsis:
A very rare movie which tells the history of an
important figure from the Islamic world: A Muslim
poet,astronomer and mathematician, Omar Khayyam. The
film presents our heritage and our astronomical
contributions to civilization.

The story recalls the biography of the famous poet who
lived in Persia (Iran) in the 11th Century. The movie
traces the events in Khayyam?s life, and his ascension
from the peasantry to the royal court.

Yet, it is presented within a modern-day tale to make
it more enjoyable. Kamran is a 12 year old boy in the
present day who discovers that Omar Khayyam is his
ancestor. The Scientist poet's legacy has been handed
down in his family from generation after generation.
And now it is the responsibility of the young man to
keep the story alive for future generations. His dying
brother, Nader, begins telling him the story as we
flash back from the modern day to the epic past. What
can he do to fulfill his destiny as the ?keeper? of
his family and people?s oral history?

The action / adventure has noble sentiments of
scholarship and cultural identification. Vanessa
Redgrave lends her support to the project as well. A
gem to watch, specially with the children
