Yeah Decent guy I have heard that myself several times what the GUY does, and only that... is always betwen him and Allah . A woman is "judgemental" if God forbid she tries to questions the man's morals and integrity despite evidence to the contrary and only he has the right to question/judge a potential spouse.

decentguy - good for you! :) that is a great story. Unfortunately, Saudi Arabia is just one extreme. Not to sound like a big femi-nazi, but it happens here too, just not to that extreame.

I think I understand what the problem is with many typical male chauvinistic "philosophers", they were used to of women who are men's subjects, whose main role is to serve men, clean the house and raise kids. They are having hard time reconciling with the idea that women are and can be much more than that. The irony is that men don't mind if they are "free" to do whatever they want, but the moment a woman tries to explore similar "freedom" they start having fits that the women are not how they used to be. Two words, double standards.

I remember asking a Saudi roommate that why they don't let women drive in Saudi Arabia, he said if they let women drive they would go out and meet with unrelated men and commit sins. I asked him if he can drive? He noded in yes. I asked him he can also go out and meet with unrelated women and commit sins, how about that? He said what he does outside is between him and Allah. I smiled and asked him, why you can't leave that part for Allah for the women as well? He had no answer.

i dunno - think women aren't that bad. i mean things have changed, but i dont think we have become heartless, etc. it is IN our NATURE to be nurturing, caring, gentile - i dont think historial and social phenomena have changed that. maybe we are just free to express ourselves now so we APPEAR more "witchy" and stuff. but yeah... i disagree with the article - i think it is too harsh. we women rule. :)

Seems like I do. Or atleast its a struggle to not become what he describes as the woman of today. Ofcourse
its not an isolated phenomenon, the men around
and the changing environment, new expectations also contribute to the metamophosis. What do u think?
