The path of Sufism...

Sufism is known as the Way of the Heart, the Way of the Pure, the Mystical Path of Islam. By whatever name it is called, it is the path which takes the seeker to the Divine Presence. Each person is a unique representative of the Divine. The Sufis say, "If human beings knew their own inner secrets, never would they look elsewhere for seeking happiness, peace and inner light." Therefore the essence of the Path is to find oneself. "Know thyself, know thy Lord!" is an imperative of the Sufi Way.
Human belives on belongings. This is my house, this is my wife, my parents, my kids, my relatives, my life, my body, my soul, my religion..... The fact is "Nothing is ours!.....except our GOD". To find this out God has given us a "partial Will".

Every human is a combination of Soul and Body. Body is meant to be mortal contrary to Soul. Religions are based on faith. Faith or belive takes you to prosperity or otherwise. No religion can servive without an element of Spiritualism but Spiritualism itself carries all religions.
This are the words will be told to those who will be succeeded in Yom-e-Adl. "O Satisfied Soul..." is the key and the berometer God has fixed in every human. Take a look into yourself. Are you satisfied? is your hart at peace? if yes, then be sure that God is happy with you. If you are not, then try to find out what wrong you are doing? eliminate it by saying Sorry to Him and promiss HIM not to do that again. Keep on checking your hart....!

Ibadats for Tareekat followers - I would say these are tough. Why? because Salat is easy for me to do 5 times. I need speicifc words to read and specific actions to perform. Whereas, when I do Ibadats of tareeqat the difficulty I face is myself. The desires, Wahems, willingness....lots of things I need to control.

For Instence in Sharia actions are proved to be Sins or Vertues. In Tareeqat the desires are also proved to be Sins or Vertues. You have a direct contact with God which makes you powerful and knowledgable but responsible. You walk on the edge of sword which will cut you in half anytime when you will make a mistake. No mersey for those who know.

Masha'Allah beautiful piece (and additional comments).

Not too be picky but isnt "man arafa nafsuhu, arafa Rabahu"- "whoever knows himself, knows his Lord".

Salaam Akhi, amazing job on this one! I am hesitating to comment because I feel that if comments start pouring in, then the jewels (of comments, yours, #2-#7) would get moved off the front page. Since I see deserved comments starting to appear, I fervently desire to ask you to edit the above JE and include your comments (from below) at the end of the article above - so that people do not miss the gold at the end of the rainbow (just an analogy.. ;-) I too recently spoke of the famous adage "Man Arafa Nafsuhoo, Arafa Rabbuhoo" (far more than merely: "Know Thyself, Know Thy Lord". But that's a discussion for 'those in the know', as you put so well.) And don't point the sword out to be that sharp.. Allah is infinitely forgiving. Your own desire is the barometer within you that Allah has opened way to Divine Wahdat for you. But who am I telling?-) JAK for the amazing job of putting this together Akhi. Wa Barak Allaho Fiqh!

For me , quite simply Sufism is the Truest way to reach & find Islam in ALL ITS GLORY. For it is not only the vessle but the drink that lies within.

Abul Hasan al-Nuri declared that the path is not a plan or science; otherwise it would be traveled with effort and study. The path can be traveled by acquiring divine character traits.

Abu Muhammad al-Gargiri defined the Sufi path as entering every high character trait and exiting every low. Abu Bakr al-Kattani defined the path as character: Improving character, improves spiritual purity.

Ibn Sina (Avicenna) concluded that the Sufi path can be traveled by determination and practice and not by reading and research. He declared that the Sufi is brave because he is shielded from the fear of death; is very good because he is shielded from the love of what is not right; is forgiving because his ego is above being hurt by a human mistake; is forgetting hatred because his memory is busy with the Truth.

Ibn Khaldun summarized the path: "Perseverance, retreat, and meditation usually lead to the lifting of the veil of the senses and the revelation of the divine domains that ordinary senses cannot perceive. The soul is one of those domains."

TheHoly Qur'an outlines the path in many places: The Heart is a faculty like hearing and sight. Those who struggle for God's sake will be guided to his paths. Believers who are mindful of God will be given a light to differentiate the Truth from the rest. The path leads ultimately to God. The most honored by God are the most mindful. God draws to Him whoever He wants; and guides to Him whoever he delegates to others. God devotes His Grace to whoever He wants. Be mindful of God and seek the means to Him. Every seeker knows what quenches his thirst. In the Holy Quran, in Surah Qaf, God says He is closer to us than our jugular vein. He whispers a call to every human heart to draw closer to Him and He has given us a vehicle to achieve this ? Sufism, the mystical inner path of Islam.
