The white days of the month of Shaa?ban

Dear brothers and sisters,

We would like to remind you of fasting the white days, as indicated below:

Gregorian
Hijri
Day

17 / 9 / 2005
13 / 8 / 1426
Saturday

18 / 9 / 2005

?Aa?ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: ?The Messenger (PBUH) used to fast until we thought he would never break his fast, and not fast until we thought he would never fast. I never saw the Messenger of Allaah fasting for an entire month except in Ramadaan, and I never saw him fast more than he did in Sha?baan.?

Narrated by Bukhari & Muslim

Usaamah ibn Zayd (may Allaah be pleased with them both) said: ?I said, ?O Messenger of Allaah, I do not see you fasting in any other month like you fast in Sha?baan.? He said, ?That is a month to which people do not pay attention, between Rajab and Ramadaan, and it is a month in which deeds are lifted up to the Lord of the Worlds. I like for my deeds to be lifted up when I am fasting.??

Narrated by Alnasaa?i

Abu Tharr Al-Ghefari said: "The Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said "O Abu Tharr! if you fast three days of every month, then fast the 13th, the 14th and the 15th ".

Abu Said al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah, said: " No servant fasts on a day in the path of Allah except that Allah removes the Hell Fire seventy years further away from his face."

Abu Tharr Al-Ghefari said: "The Messenger of Allah, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam, said "Whoever fasts from every month three days, it is like fasting the whole year "

So my dear brother/sister fast an extremely hot day, to avoid an even hotter day .. and prepare yourself for a time when no food or water will be there.

Subhanallah Fadi bro a great post! I love fasting it always gives me inner peace. I love Ramadan as its probably the only time that there is a sense of unity amongst the Muslim Ummah..which is such a rare thing these days . );

Thanks for posting this! I love the quote at the bottom: "fast an extremely hot day, to avoid an even hotter day .. and prepare yourself for a time when no food or water will be there."
