Things to do for Kids in Chicago

Okay so my 4 yr old nephew is visiting me from England next month and i'm planning to do kiddie stuff with him. However, i'm not sure what kids enjoy and where to take him. We're definitely going to Brookfield zoo (has anyone been, is it worth it?) but where else would he have fun and where else can i take him in Chicagoland? Any ideas?

A good place to take kids is the Botanic Gardens... it's a great place to take anyone during the day but it's also a treat at night. You can also head down to Navy Pier, go to the Shedd Aquarium (awesome penguins), Field Musuem, Adler Planetarium, and Grant & Millenium Park (a lot of walking around to get your nephew tired). Hope this helps.

My 3yr old cousin really enjoyed Venetian Nite last year, all those boats adorned and lit up...a site not to miss! And I agree with Omar, the Childrens Museum in Navy Pier is great too!

1)Lincoln Park- The zoo is free, plus you can also stroll the lovely grounds, have a picnic , see the beach, visit the Children's museum, and botanical garden - they will LOVE it
2)Navy Pier Childrens Museum - fun and educational for kids and geeks like me
3)Shedd Aquarium-fish!sharks and whales too omg

Bliss, I think some towns will have summerfest in July. I am sure he will enjoy the rides there. Also, if he is coming early July you can take him to downtown to see fireworks. There is also Santas village in South Elgin. Its an amusement park.
