Organik, a well communicated argument but a straw one. Changing the cosmetic features in an animal will not alter the transmission of physical attributes to subsequent gene pools. Manipulating the breeding process to favor specific attributes is not the same as wasting money to give a pet plastic surgery. This is not just a case of social absurdity, it compounds insult and and injury by subjecting an animal to unecessary suffering. I can assure you that the people who do this do not have the animals aesthetic well being in mind, rather it is intended to enhance their own vanity.

Human vanity obviously knows no bounds. When we begin to project our own neurotic sense of what we percieve to be aesthetically pleasing onto creatures who have no such sensibilities, it signifies new lows in human empathy and new highs in human selfishness.
