This sucks!

I'm at a point in my life where I'm looking at completing the other half of my deen (getting maried). The sucky thing is that there are only about 44,000 pashtuns in all of north america! Right now I'm facing the prospects of marying a Desi - which is something I really don't want, but with Pashtuns amounting to only .01% of the total Muslim population here in America, the odds are against me. And yes, we don't know any other pashtuns, and no, I'm not going to marry somebody from the mother land.

So I'm wondering, do you guys know of any single religious pakhtanas out there who are looking to get married? If so, CONTACT ME! I would really hate to spend the rest of my life with a desi.

So here is what I am looking for. Sorry if the verbage below sounds disjoint. I'll pretty it up later Inshallah.

My interests:

Interests & hobbies? Learning more and more about the deen for one. I also LOVE giving dawah. I appreciate nature as it brings me closer to Allah - so activities revolving around nature float my boat. Helping others and only expecting reward from Allah in return. I like reading the Quran and Hadith. It boosts my iman like wild when I read something in the Quran or Sunnah and relate to it. Oh and I love to play pranks on people (saran wrapping people's cars, etc.).

Best aspect of my personality:

I don't like to argue and am very quick to forgive Mashallah. I don't know of a single person who hates me Mashallah. You can go to my masjid and practically everybody knows who I am and they all can vouch for my character Mashallah. I lower my gaze and people have commented on my modesty Mashallah.

My ideal match:

My ideal match would be a Muslimah 22-40. Race is not an issue for me. Single or widowed (no divorcees please) who loves Allah, the Prophet (S), the Sahabah, and the pious predecesors. Oh and nature as well. I'd prefer that the sister at least have a college education Inshallah.

Oh and I'd prefer that she wears AT LEAST a lose top and dress, jilbab prefered. And finally I'd prefer that she has lead a pure life with no previous haraam relations with men (I have never done anything haraam with women eventhough I was offered, so I expect the same from my future wife).

So to sum it up the following qualities are HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

* I'd like a wife who is like a mirror image of me, but more pious.

* One who is chaste and has never married (the exception being only for a widow)

* One who prays Tahajjud REGULARLY (at least once a week).

* One who cries during salah not only in time of stress but in times of joy as well.

* A fun easy going person who maintains her modesty and is not loose around men.

* A woman who strives to make Allah pleased with her.

* A woman who loves to laugh.

* A woman whose Iman is boosted by the simple blessings of life.

* A woman whose tongue is moist with the dhicker of Allah and is at awe when seeing the beauty of His creation, plants, flowers, animals, etc.

* A mature woman who is not a 12 year old mentally and a 24 year old physically.

While I'm more than willing to consider virtually any Muslimah from any nation, I would prefer someone raised in the west, or currently living in the west.

Interested? Contact me via naseeb or at [email protected]

I repeat I have seen better modest non hijabies, and it doesn't mean that they are not good muslims, they are just not fulfilling one of the requirements. I realize its farz to cover ur hair, but living in a western society, its a challenging task. Just try to put yourself in their shoes. lol..

but anywayz, I think you should come down to London, I can't guarantee any Pashtoon girls, but there are many arab girls who wear hijab and jilbabs, and are very modest. MashaAllah some of them are my role models, I copy them all the time :)

I know it may look like I have a lot of pre-req's but believe me, in the 5 years that I have been seriously looking, my list is now like half the size! Love for Allah is something I am never going to budge on - never Inshallah. If someone genuinely loves someone they follow their lover's rules without question. Seriously, are any of us ready to die right now and face Allah? I know I'm not. And for this reason I'm looking for a woman to who will help me face Him. Yeah I know there are a lot of non-hijabies out there who have great love for Allah, but the ones I know who are marriage material have no hayya at all. And we know in Islam that if Allah wants to destroy somebody, He removes hayya from them...do you guys know any hayya filled Allah-loving non-hijabies that you can point me to?

Whats going on here, I think Temur was just kidding around :)

I don't know how many people here have met J but I have and I can tell you he is one decent Muslim Pushtun brother. I don't think I need to say anymore.

I think the best thing is just to find someone who atleast is practicing the basics i.e fiver pillars. I mean when you look at that alone it quite a bit...i remember my islamic school teacher when she was looking for a spouse for her realitives she actually had the same criteria...but the key question was "are you willing to improve and strengthen your iman" and if someone is willing...i know many girls who say they want a guy who is more stronger in iman to help them. But always remember, iman goes up and down.

On a personal note...i was married to someone who was extrmely religious..to the point that he would sit down and drink water becasue it was sunnah...he later turned into a party boy extreme.

You just never know....i guess you depend on your istikahra and allah's guidance.

lol and one more thing Babyj,

I think this joke of Mullah Nasruddin shall explain it :)

One afternoon, Nasruddin and his friend were sitting in a cafe, drinking tea and talking about life and love. His friend asked: "How come you never married?"

"Well," said Nasruddin, "to tell you the truth, I spent my youth looking for the perfect woman. In Cairo I met a beautiful and intelligent woman, but she was unkind. Then in Baghdad, I met a woman who was a wonderful and generous soul, but we had no common interests. One woman after another would seem just right, but there would always be something missing. Then, one day, I met her. Beautiful, intelligent, generous and kind. We had very much in common. In fact, she was perfect!"

"What happened?" asked Nasruddin's friend, "Why didn't you marry her?"

Nasruddin sipped his tea reflectively. "Well," he replied, "it's really the sad story of my life.. It seemed she was looking for the perfect man?

I don't mean to dishearten you, but she may wanna change certain things about you, so try to understand her point and be more lenient towards her feelings as long as its not affecting your beliefs and Iman. I know you don't wanna miss that chance ;)

hmm I don't think you should call him ignorant or pathetic..

its his preferences and there is nothing wrong with it.

babyJ, you might wanna consider some non-hijabis too. from what I have seen, there are some better practicing muslim girls but they don't wear hijab, its just one of their weaknesses, and they do dress properly. and you can help her on that InshaAllah. I have learn modesty, haya and sharam from most of my non-hijabi friends. Unfortunately some hijabis believe that only a piece of cloth fulfills all the requirements of haya and modesty.

There are some other good girls who may not know a lot about Islam but they are willing to learn and practice accordingly. So may be the two of you can work on it together.

last but not the least, its very hard for girls to give up their worldly pleasures, and some that I know are only trying their best to balance deen and duniya. Allah knows our intentions better.

the hookah pictures are common - I know what you are talking about. I agree being picky is the other problem. That is sad about hijab, may Allah give us sabr.

Alif, that is one of the nice advantages of a smaller town.

hmmm London is too small for that, I don't think I have come across such examples, there were few but almost invisible. :),

Well unfortunatly its a loss of "sharam haya" They mingle way to much..i mean the environment is getting quite sleezy...its not uncommon to see a crowd of guys and girls hanging out at the hookah lounge and then put their arms around each other and take pic....then you find it posted on facebook:)

Im not dissing on anyone..what anyone does it their own business...but nowa days people are getting really shallow and picky about stupid things...and get this, so many girls have taken or their hijab casue they think that is the reason they are not married...im beginning to find out now that most guys actually prefer non-hijabi....anyhow i can go on and on with the reasons for this but i'll stop here.

That is really interesting. I wonder why that is so. I would think that if you were "friends" or had familiarity about a person, that would be the most comfortable person to consider.

So who do those Muslims in the bay end up marrying?

Login to find out (April 3, 2007 at 11:19am)
Kulsoom its very common that people who usually know eachother dont hook up. Here in the bay there are so many single muslims and most all of them hang out in some group or another...but none will ever marry eachother, with a few exceptions.
