Till Death Do Us Part
I assigned her to the safe hands of fate
Her words, soaking my tears, pacifying my soul
?Till death do us part, she said?
As the farewell dispersed into a dawn of hope,
Hope of her silent walk home some day
And eternal bliss thereafter
A hope born to her fervor
A hope nurtured by my worship
Days turned to months as months blended into seasons
Even as wrinkles shrouded my sight,
And my fingers refused to obey,
My Hope breathed and flourished
My heart sang of love glorified and passion deep
My mind painted her in a thousand hues
And she grew more beautiful with every sunset
I lived that hope as life gave up on me
Even death couldn?t slay my faith
As my love added gold to flames of the pyre
The wind tried hard to veil her fragrance
But I knew she had kept her promise
My ashes gladly hugged her feet
As she collected me in the warmth of her embrace
Her tears purified my remains,
?Till death do us part, I said.?
