Tomorrow?s sweet promise, yesterday?s regret
Arms akimbo, I straddle the line between tomorrow?s promise and yesterday?s regret
Afraid to choose either side, I sit instead on the fence
My legs growing weary, I decide that I must indeed decide
The obscurity of tomorrow, enthralls and captivates me
It spins a web or mystery and secrecy
While the regret of yesterday, comforts me in its familiarity
Knowledge or expectation, awareness or ambiguity
My brow perplexed, the choice looms ahead of me
Choose! I scream silently, chiding my inherent indecisiveness
Is there no happy medium? Yesterday is gone, tomorrow not promised
Cling to the past or cautiously anticipate the future?
I make a decision and cross the line
I discard my fear and trepidation, confident in my decision
Without regret I quickly reminisce on the past, but bask in the glory of the future.
