Topic for our next meeting - suggestions invited
Salamz Members:
It has been suggested by some Members that our next meeting should have a formal structure where we have a selected non-controversial topic that we all can speak in Urdu about (such as global warming, etc.).
Each Member will be given the opportunity to very briefly speak in Urdu on the selected topic and present their view/findings on that topic. The findings can then be discussed in summary in the group. Those who do not wish to do so can opt out and can choose only to listen to others' presentations.
The proposed agenda shall be as follows:
1) Brief introductions by all Members
2) Presentations by those who want to speak
3) Overall discussion on findings
4) Propose for next cuisine and location
Can I request Members to submit some non-controversial topics to choose from please? :)

I'm new on here, was invited by Mohtaram IceKool. Wonder what he found fascinating about my profile, its mostly blank.
Meeting up sounds great, but why only in NYC, London mein kya kharabi hai? Aap log yaha aye.. aap ki khatar daari karu... London ke haseen nizaren dekhau, not the usual crowded tourist spots.
So? Ham mil rahe hai? London mein?
Shukriya to everyone for all the ideas. Haan I think this idea seems to be fairly popular...Desi's/Muslims in America....or Living in West the Eastern way....all really the offshoots of the same issue.
Unless there are other ideas that come maybe we can just stick to this one.

I'm planning on a trip to NYC that weekend so hopefully can make it.
The 1st amendment issue is also intersting but too much politics involved for a dinner convo and plus it's more fun hearing about others' lives and childhoods.
Are you seriously willing to settle for "part-time" status? Are you just looking for an Islamic way around having a man in your life but not having him around at all times? That's what it sounds like....you wnat a boyfriend to fulfil whatever needs you may have intimate or not and then not have to deal with him all the time. Or are you seriously at your witts end and can think of no other solution and feel hopeless. I'm sorry whatever your reason and ask that you give up this idea of being a second wife. You are worthy of more.
Sorry cant be there (moi is in London) but I have a topic for discussion if you guys and gals can discuss this whenever.
Topic : Having a second wife (yeah i know the law of the country does not allow...but...you'll understand as i explian my thoughts to you.
I'll take myself as a prime example. Why? because I am a single mother of two boys (aged 6 and 4 mashallah) and have been single for 3+yrs. Finding that lifetime partner is proving very difficult for me as some of you may imagine. Single or divorcee muslim guys dont seem to be giving girls like me a second look. Thats when I began thinking that what if I could be a second wife. The guy wouldn't feel so much of a burden and have to take a second wife on full time. Why? Well because she'd already be independent earning her own money etc. I also believe that the guy would be physically more satisfied and more fulfilled leading to only more happiness. The truth be said things can get a bit boring after a while in a marriage. To be even more frank, my needs aren't being met and i just dont know what to do. Someone please tell me if I dont meet a muslim guy then who is it that i'll turn to eventually. Any decent man is the answer. Shall I then think that muslim guys now adays think they're are being so good by following the ways of the prophet (PBUH) but not when it comes to the way of the number of wives.
....well i think i'll leave it there. Hope this topic will be spread across every muslim man's mind and married women, for the sake of all the single mums out there hope a solution is found. I'm sure that Allah will reward every persons good intentions.Ameen. take care.Zohra

Acha janab to ik yeh suggestion hai ke hum is topic pe discussion kat sakte hain: Muslim youth in the US...or Pakistani youuth in the US (something along those lines...just a thought).
