The previous Agha Khan was
1- the gentleman responsible for the elevation of the Aligarh Muslim College into Aligarh Muslim University- the body that went a long way in modernising the Muslims of South Asia... He also contributed significantly to Pakistan - he was the founding president of the Muslim League and later did all he could to promote Pakistan world over.
2- the initiation of countless welfare projects in Europe and Asia.
This Agha Khan:
1- Countless new welfare projects for all people regardless of religion, caste or creed.
2- The Agha Khan Medical University Karachi- leading Medical institution in Asia.
3- Agha Khan hospitals in various parts of Asia and Africa.
4- The Agha Khan Examination Board giving a cheap alternative to British based London and Cambridge O and A level Examinations, to millions of Pakistanis.
5- The University of Central Asia, one of the largest universities in the world with campuses in over 4 newly independent central asian republics.
6- Restoration of old Islamic cities, forts, architecture all over the world- etc.
7- Create projects for uplift of backward communities.
This is real Islam- Islam of service and welfare. It beats the ritualistic bigotry of Sunni Paganism any day.
