My picks from the Vertigo tour? Hmmmm....I really liked Miracle Drug.

BUT, at the Oakland one, he closed the concert with Bad--and I almost died. And he also sang "Stuck in a moment" from the "All that you can't...." album, which is one of my favs as well.

But what I wouldn't give just to hear him sing "Who's gonna ride your wild horses" just once.

Elevation tour 2003 in Chicago was a little different compared to the Vertigo tour, because Bono was not in a preaching mood, at least not via the spoken word which was the case in the V-tour. He was on a mission, as always. The musicianship was flawless. As an Edge fan, it was just incredible to watch him sanctify each U2 song, mostly with his cream Les Paul sceptre. Bono worked the crowd wonderfully and sounded great while not coming across as "selling" the show - he didn't need to.
That show was all about rock and roll. I couldnt imagine a better 1-2 punch by any artist than Bad and Streets, which were played back-to-back. Bad had been my favorite song for a long time, but hearing Streets live was beyond awesome, and has taken over the mantle for me. SBS was wonderful, as was Until the End of the World. I Will Follow was mesmorizing as a fan since the beginning, and I thought that on this night, it was played true to the original's frenetic and empassioned level.
All in all, for me to miss their next show, especially in Chicago i'd have to be either dead or buried alive.

What were your picks from the Vertigo tour?

I did, I saw them on the Elevation tour in 2001, but I was about 15/16 so I didn't appreciate it as much....

BUT, I saw them on the Vertigo tour three times. I saw them in San Jose last April, in Oakland last November, and then again in December in Portland.

The Oakland one was by far the best. My friend and I got into the ellipse and I could see the sweat dripping down Bono's face. A little freaky, I know....hahaha

They are insane. They are SUCH a live band. Incredible. Incredible. Incredible. I can't even find words for their shows.

They came out with a DVD for the same show in October. Their DVD's and CD's dont do justice to the quality of their live music. It was my second time and the more i see them, the better they get. This time around though, witnessing packed United Center with over 22,000 fans singing along was nothing short of blissful.
Before they played "ONE" , Bono had the house lights truned off and asked everyone to open their cell phones and text the number to donoate a dollar to feed the starving and the lights from the 22,000 cell phones lit up the building. Their setlist and encores were brilliant. Tons of inspired moments.

I could on and on about this show, I think i should stop though! ; )
