i would slightly disagree with that. I qoute"What cannot be allowed then should not be allowed now. What can be allowed then is still allowed now". Now lets take the example of alcohol, 1400 years back the only alcohol made was that of grapes, and that was the only wine that was made haram. but now a days all sorts of alcoholic beverages are available in the marketplace. But they are all haram not because it was said so, but because sharia evolved and adapted to the changing world. Why not allow beer to be halal, or rum, or ...

kind of hard to figure out whose the father if a woman has more than a husband..well even with the advancement of science that can help us to identify whose father it is..we have to understand that Islam has laws that last through the years and not something that should be changed due to time. What cannot be allowed then should not be allowed now. What can be allowed then is still allowed now. Just a small logical point to bring out.
